I also think it's way too much for early game. Also, you need either (dozens of) thousands of military science if not counting infinite researches, or infinite if counting. Not millions. Actually only takes 5 seconds per science pot, because each recipe gives 2 pots now. So you only need 4 grenades per second for 1/s.

That’s the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals. You're trading a factory that isn't going to be doing as much valuable producing into one that will. At the start of the game this is a bad deal. But around 40/41, this is a solid deal. A single civ can build a mil in less than 3 years on average.

If you play for 8 years ('36-'45) as the UK, and never increase your civilian factories (and we'll ignore using them for resources), you will have 44 Civilian and 130 Military factories by the end of 1945. You will have produced 1.42 million IC of equipment, of which ~1.05 million was post-1940 kit.

If your country name starts with"United States of Ameri" or"Japa" you will also need to build dockyards. The rule of thumb is civs up until 1.5 - 2 years before the war, then mils. Infrastructure is typically only good for resources (and supply but then you basically build it as you need it on the frontline).

Both, always. Always build civilian factory first until 2 years before like 1938 is where u start building military factory unless you are china who expect early war then just spam military factory. This is the method to have most equipment and good capability to build and repair.
